Aperio Space Technologies GmbH develops key technologies and software for resilient, secure, and scalable satellite networks with a platform-independent approach. With a patent-pending method for dynamically determining network topology and operating a multi-orbit and multi-platform satellite network, Aperio enables operators to access their satellites in real time to retrieve data and perform continuous operations. After joining the Aperio network, satellites will be able to downlink more data faster, thereby increasing mission returns. This is particularly crucial in earth observation, where the instant availability of large amounts of data is critical for applications such as disaster response, environmental monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, cargo monitoring, and surveillance. Through intelligent dynamic routing, the data traffic in future telecommunication networks that (even partly) rely on satellites will be optimized and secured with advanced cryptographic mechanisms that Aperio integrates into their protocols. At the same time, space will become safer through Aperio’s work. Not only does the dynamic topology eliminate single points of failure and make telecommunication and earth observation constellations much more resilient, but it also enables instant maneuvering for collision avoidance and autonomous operations, which will become mandatory given the exponential rise of active satellites in orbit.
